Ryan Merrill is a trumpet player and instructor whose main teachers include Paul Puccinelli, Boyde Hood (University of Southern California, LA Philharmonic), and Mario Guarneri (San Francisco Conservatory of Music, LA Philharmonic). He currently performs with the Pasadena City College Faculty Brass Quintet and has held positions with the 300th Army Band and the Southern California Philharmonic (Principal Trumpet), and has played extensively with a wide range of ensembles in Southern California (including Disneyland), the Bay Area, and the Owens Valley. He coaches and writes for the brass section at Huntington Beach High School’s Academy for the Performing Arts and maintains a successful private studio. His teaching style is combination of James Stamp’s physical methods and the psychological aspects of the Bill Adam school of brass playing.

Bringing Ray Charles to tears while singing “Summertime” before he received his Lifetime Achievement Award was one of her most memorable performances. She is very proud to be a LEVEL 3 CERTIFIED SPEECH LEVEL SINGING INSTRUCTOR and has been giving private singing lessons for 8 years
Jim Warino can teach all ages and levels and has vast experience in: Sight Reading, Chord Construction and Usage, Theory, Hand Technique, Intricate Exercises, Soloing in Various Keys, Improvisation, Advanced Scales, Arpeggios, Finger picking, etc.
Jim has worked with many prominent players including: George Lynch, Warren Di Martini, Lanny Cordolla, Jake E. Lee (Ozzy and solo), and Vivian Campbell (Dio).
Catherine started playing the flute at the age of 10. She started studying privately at age 14 with flutist Ying Li. From there, Catherine started taking Certificate of Merit courses through the Music Teachers National Association. She completed levels 1 through 10 within three years and participated in Level 8 and Level 10 Honors Recitals. She also competed in both the MTNA and MTAC branch and regional competitions receiving first place. In 2008, Catherine received 4th place in the MTNA California State Competition. Catherine continued her education at both California State University Long Beach and Tennessee Technological University. Catherine plans to further her education by pursuing a Masters degree at California State University Long Beach. Catherine has studied with Ying Li, Rena Urso-Trapani, Roger Martin, and has taken lessons with Carole Winsec, Hall Ott, Elizabeth Buck, Conor Nelson, and William Woodworth. Catherine is a great teacher and can teach any level of flute from beginning to advanced.
Benn Clatworthy grew up in London, and moved to Los Angeles in 1980. He performed with Cedar Walton, Lionel Hampton, Jimmy Cleveland, and many other jazz greats. Benn has recently performed with various groups such as Grammy nominated pianist John Beasley, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, and Steve Cotter, Chris Colangelo, and Roy McCurdy. He also leads and composes for the Francisco Aguabella Latin Jazz Band.
