Sean Conover was drawn into music at the early age of four, beginning on just a quarter-sized cello. While taking private lessons in his hometown of Easton, PA, he was actively involved with several youth orchestras (Junior String Philharmonic, Young people’s Philharmonic, and Greater Princeton Youth Orchestra), as well as chamber groups paired with other young musicians. He further pursued his classical training in arts focused programs through Lehigh Valley Charter Arts High School, and later Butler University’s Jordan College of Arts following a Music Performance major, where he also studied Piano and other string instruments.
Sean was an active free-lance musician through most of his studies, playing both private events either solo or in duos or quartets, and substituting with local orchestras. He’s acquired a very diverse set of skills, playing every genre from Bach to Led Zeppelin through many performance settings – solo recitals, new music premieres of experimental composers, ballets, musicals, and has accompanying folk/rock/blues groups on stage.
Along with his performance history, Sean has given several masterclass demonstrations for private lesson studios and provided coaching to young chamber musicians. As music has always been a passion for him, he hopes to use his experiences to help guide students in their pursuits.
