Rich McBain has been studying, performing and teaching classical piano for more than 25 years. Born in Dallas, Rich studied locally at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts while simultaneously studying privately at Southern Methodist University under the tutelage of Dr. David A. Karp. He then furthered his training at the Cleveland Institute of Music where he studied with the chair of the piano department, Paul Schenly and critically acclaimed concert pianist, Sergei Babayan.
Rich has appeared as recitalist, concerto soloist and collaboratively as a chamber musician and accompanist. His range of teaching experience includes children with special needs, competition level musicians and adults just looking to fulfill life long dreams of learning to play the piano for pleasure.
