Miguel Hidalgo-Monroy, alto saxophonist and clarinetist, was born November 2, 1987 in Richmond, VA. He got his formal music training at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. While attending Berklee, he was fortunate enough to study under the guidance of Bill Pierce and Greg Osby. Upon graduation he did a few contracts playing saxophone, flute and clarinet with Carnival and Holland America Cruise Lines. After moving on from cruise ships, Miguel ventured back to NYC and could be heard around the city playing in many notable clubs. Recently Miguel has completed a Masters in music from North Carolina Central University. While there he studied and was mentored by Branford Marsalis and Robert Trowers. Miguel has performed with numerous notable musicians such as Branford Marsalis, Benny Golson, Joe Chambers, Antonio Hart and Stefon Harris to name a few.
