Michael Gruender is a clarinetist and educator in the Philadelphia area. He served as a principal clarinet of both the Rowan University Wind Ensemble and Orchestra in 2013. As a soloist, he has appeared with the R.U.O. and String Orchestra. Michael has done many marvelous things with his career. Most recently, he has premiered works by Daniel Harrison and Carlos Bandera as part of Fresh Inc. Festival in Chicago and has served on staff at the NY Summer Music Festival where he also served as E-flat clarinetist for the NYSMF Wind Ensemble. Michael currently teaches music through Northeastern Music Programs and serves on faculty of Rowan Prep. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Education from Rowan University. His primary teachers include Barbara Benedett and Dr. Rie Suzuki.
