Douglas Goodhart

Doug began his career as Associate Professor of Music at San Diego State University in 1981 and has taught and performed with some of the world’s greatest musicians including: The Romeros (The Royal Family of the Spanish Guitar); legendary West African musician Abubakari Lunna (Ghana); and David Page (Irish tin whistle and uilleann pipe master), among others. He studied the long-bow fiddle tradition of West Virginia with Alan Jabbour (Director, American Folklife Center, Library of Congress). From 1987-1994 Doug was director of Center For World Music, Kansas City, a not-for-profit Arts organization, dedicated to world music and dance. Doug was on permanent faculty at ZoukFest, an eclectic world music camp at the University of New Mexico Albuquerque. His current ensemble with virtuoso Karina Wilson is called The Katydids and features music from throughout the world on fiddles and assorted instruments.
