Amy Drossner’s parents gave her a flute for Christmas at 13 years old, and she has been playing the flute ever since. She began taking private flute lessons in junior high school and played in her high school concert and marching bands. She continued on to Florida State University where she was a member of the Florida State University Marching Chiefs and learned much about marching rudiments and techniques.
Amy has been a member of several community concert bands performing throughout the local area. A teacher in the public school system, Amy has been an active supporter of the high school music program at the school where she teaches, helping or sometimes sitting in with the flute section in the concert band and helping the marching band with marching rudiments and techniques on the field. She occasionally is a guest performer with EverWilde Band, playing flute on select southern rock and country songs. She also has recently developed an affinity for playing the ukulele and she enjoys sharing her passion for music with those who wish to learn.
Amy has taught languages in the public school system for many years, and having been a student in a music lesson room herself she understands how students learn. She values the importance of getting to know her students – whether in the classroom or in the lesson room – and helping them to achieve their goals.
