Yosmar has been playing the saxophone since he was 10 years old starting in the Conservatory of Music “Guillermo Tomas” in Havana Cuba. There he participated in numerous festivals as a soloist with the Conservatory Jazz Band. In 2004 he graduated from the Conservatory of Music “Amadeo Roldan” as a sax player and teacher. Since he graduated he began his profesional career as a teacher of saxophone at the Conservatory “Guillermo Tomas”. With more than 10 years of experience teaching children and adults Yosmar enjoys teaching how to be methodical and enjoying the study of the instrument is the key to being an excellent musician.
After graduating Yosmar learned to play Flute and clarinet. The Blues, Traditional Jazz, Latin Jazz, Cuban and Brazilian Music and Classic Rock are his favorites. He has played in musical groups and bands in Cuba with Anaís Abreu, Eliades Ochoa an others. “I learn every day teaching my students, it is one of the experiences that makes me feel complete. Playing with my students and seeing how they progress and grow is my core aim”.
