Paul Gunsberg, raised in a musical household outside Detroit, Michigan, began playing drums at age five. He became heavily interested in Jazz as a teenager when he began playing professionally and also learned to play piano and guitar during this time. Paul graduated high school in 2001 and received a scholarship to attend the New England Conservatory in Boston, MA, where he was a Jazz Studies major. While at NEC, he had the opportunity to study with many Jazz greats including Bob Moses, Billy Hart, Cecil McBee, Jerry Bergonzi, and Joe Morris. After graduating in 2006, Paul returned to his native Michigan where he taught music lessons and participated in the burgeoning music scene in Detroit and Ann Arbor before moving to the NJ/NYC area in 2012 where he now teaches and performs.
