Norman Tischler

Cleveland

Norman Tischler has a giant, fat tenor sax tone that has made him the premier blues and rock performer in Northeast Ohio. A Brooklyn, New York native, Norman arrived in Cleveland thirty plus years ago and joined the house band for WEWS’s Upbeat Show where he backed up dozens of nationally known rock and soul artists. After the demise of the show, he joined the band Tiny Alice with whom he toured nationally and recorded.
He is one of the Cleveland area’s best known woodwind players. He has done the party after the NBA All-Star Game, Blossom Music Center, Downtown Cleveland at “Sparx in the City,” community events, and Senior Citizens’ residences. Norman is also Conductor of the Workmens’ Circle Klezmer Orchestra which specializes in performing Yiddish music all over town.
