Originally from Brazil, Marcos Rosa moved to New York, NY, to pursue his Doctoral degree in Jazz/Commercial Music Electric Guitar at Five Towns College. He has a master’s degree in music from Federal University of Parnaíba, where he also went for his undergraduate course in acoustic guitar. In Brazil, he was a professor at Federal Institute of Paraíba. Also, he taught music and guitar lessons at Colégio Marista Pio X and Studio Escola. Since 2008 he has published many papers on international journals and conferences, usually focusing on the way people learn and teach electric guitar. As a performance musician, he played and recorded with: Wendy Lanter, Haley Kallenberg Orchestra; Unidade Móvel; Os Nonatos; Glaucia Lima, Orquestra de Violões da Paraíba; Eleonora Falcone. He is also the first winner of the Philippe Bertaud Memorial Scholarship Award. The web site “Best Of Music Sounds”, ratted his song Hora de Subir, Hora de Descer with 5 stars and Marcos was listed is a Highly Recommended Artist. By now he is working on his own original songs, Broadway musicals, Fresh Tones Jazz and others small ensembles.
