Kevin Walker

Kevin Walker has been playing drums and percussion since the age of nine. In high school, he was involved in jazz band, vocal jazz ensemble, marching band, and the PMEA all-state/regional honors ensembles. He went on to study classical percussion at the Boyer College of Music at Temple University, where he studied under Phillip R. Obanion and Chris Deviney. At Temple, he was involved in the Orchestra, Wind Symphony, Wind Ensemble, Sinfonia, Opera Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble, Contemporary Ensemble, New Music Ensemble, jazz combos, and the theater company.Kevin currently performs frequently in Philadelphia, New York, and New Jersey. Most notably in the European premier of Decameron (in collaboration with the American Composer’s Forum), the Philadelphia Orchestra Chamber Series performance of Drumming by Steve Reich, and the premier recording of John Mackey’s Mass.
