John White began playing guitar at the age of 13 and received his B.A. Music from the University of Mary Washington in 2013. From his time as an undergraduate onwards, John has performed with a number of groups and ensembles that range across a variety of genres that include jazz, tango, R&B, klezmer inspired rock, and classical. He has also worked as a pit musician in several musical theater productions and performed in national electroacoustic music festivals.
John currently can be found collaborating with the D.C.-based dance company, Next Reflex Dance Collective, where he performs and composes original music along the east coast. Ongoing and future projects will include continued collaborations with both D.C. and Richmond based choreographers that will premier new, original pieces.
Excited to be able to share his passion for music through education, John teaches guitar, piano, and music theory as a private instructor. His style of teaching adapts to the needs and interests of his students, working and providing them the tools necessary to achieve their musical goals during their study of the guitar.
