Jeff Stone


Jeff Stone is a veteran musician and instructor with over 25 years of experience playing
and teaching the electric bass and guitar covering a variety of styles of music.
During his career as a professional musician, Jeff has had the opportunity to study with
some of the finest musicians and educators in the country including jazz bassist/
composer Bunny Brunel (Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock), studio legend Willie Weeks
(George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Rolling Stones), and renowned jazz instructor Char-lie
Banacos (Jeff Berlin, Mike Stern, Michael Brecker).
Jeff is also a studio bassist and has appeared on hundreds of radio and television
commercials as well as CDs including the latest release by Healing Sixes which featured
the song “Fine Time” with blues guitar legend Joe Bonamassa. He recently appeared
on the soundtrack for the documentary film “Come Together: A Beatles Tribute” and also
traveled to Europe to record with producer John Parish (PJ Harvey, Tracy Chapman)
and engineer Paul Corkett (Radiohead, The Cure).
Jeff has performed at some of the top venues across the U.S. including: Tampa Bay
Blues Fest, Arlene’s Grocery NYC, House of Blues Chicago and Eddie’s Attic Atlanta.
His current and former students include members of jazz bands and orchestras from
Ball State University, Indiana University, University of Indianapolis, Purdue University
and Berklee School of Music in Boston.
In addition to giving private lessons at Sam Ash Music Center, Jeff is also one of the Ash Rock Band program instructors.
