Jason received his MM from Southern Methodist University, his BFA from The University of Texas at Tyler, and his AA from Tyler Junior College. Throughout his collegiate education, and under the instruction of Franklin Kimlicko and Robert Guthrie, Jason received numerous performance and academic scholarships in music. His work developing a guitar curriculum in performance at Kilgore College and Trinity Valley Community College has produced students of scholarship award at major American Universities. Jason also enjoys a prolific concert career as soloist and chamber musician. Performances include the world premiere of “The Wise Women,” a church opera by Conrad Susa, The Christ Episcopal Grace Note Series, The Advent Festival at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and The Cathedral of Saint Mary, The Texas Association of Music Schools Convention, The Mid-Day Music Series of First United Methodist Church, The Tyler Junior College and Jacksonville Baptist College Lecture Recitals, The University of Texas at Tyler Tour of Texas Colleges, and The Dallas Guitar Society Holiday Guitar Magic Concert. Currently, Jason has written several performance editions of guitar masterworks, method books, and studies, as well as releasing his debut CD “Torroba-Ohana-Turina,” which was recorded live at Southern Methodist University in the Robert O’Donnell Auditorium.
