Garrett Griffin


Garrett has been teaching guitar and bass for over 20 years, and playing for over 30 years. His first band The Altar Boys, later changed their name to Con 800, and finally to the renowned Pennywise.
 Garrett began performing and recording as a teenager at clubs in Hollywood, and frequently performed at places like The Cathay, De Grande, and Gazzari’s. His first recording was as a session player for the SST records (Black Flag’s Label) band Slovenly, on their second EP “Thinking Of Empire”. He recorded wah scratch guitar loops used by rappers Rodney O’ and Joe Cooley. In the 1980s and 1990s Garrett had a band with Black Flag’s Dez Cadena, Brawl, and has had the opportunity to play with Mike Watt. Garrett currently performs in the greater Los Angeles area as a freelance artist.
