Colin Barkley

Colin Barkley graduated from the University of San Diego with a Bachelors of Art in Music with an Emphasis in Theory and Composition. During his time at USD, he was in Choral Scholars and Concert Choir as not only a chorus member, but also as assistant director. In this position he taught and led the choirs in the director’s absence. Colin was one of the founding members of the university’s first a cappella group, Treble Threat. For five years he served as the Artistic Director, which included the leading of all rehearsals, writing of all performed arrangements, and teaching of musicianship to all group members. He was also a member of the USD Jazz Ensemble, where he played bass and sang. Upon graduation, Colin joined SACRA/PROFANA as a core member and has performed in the La Jolla Playhouse’s production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, the San Diego Symphony Summer Pops Comic Con feature presentations, and many more. He has also been a part of SACRA/PROFANA’s education outreach team, which brings music education to underprivileged schools in the greater San Diego area. Colin has talent in the writing of compositions and arrangements, some of which have been performed by S/P, including “No Small Wonder” and “Into the Groove.” Colin has been singing in choirs for 18 years, playing piano for 16 years, and playing bass for 6 years.
