Cole Dapprich is a talented and versatile saxophonist, clarinetist, and multi-instrumentalist with over a decade of playing experience and several years of teaching experience. Born and raised in the DFW area, Cole graduated Summa Cum Laude from Richland High School and immediately enrolled in the world-renowned jazz studies program at the University of North Texas. During his time at UNT, he has studied traditional classical repertoire, big band jazz, small group jazz, and music theory. Cole has also played with over a dozen university ensembles, including the award-winning and nationally-recognized Latin Jazz Lab Band and 2 O’Clock Lab Band. From 2015 to 2016, Cole was able to record a professional studio album with both of these bands. The Latin Jazz record, Little “D” Town, was released in July 2016 to great reviews, including an Outstanding Latin Jazz Ensemble award from Downbeat magazine, and the 2 O’Clock record will be released in the 2016 holiday season. Cole will graduate from UNT with degrees in Jazz Studies and Computer Science in May 2017.
