Alanna North

Richmond

Alanna North is a violinist with a diverse background of orchestral and chamber experience. She is a current member of the Richmond Philharmonic Orchestra and an alumna of the Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra ensemble. Alanna has experience performing full-scale classical repertoire, and can also teach other genres including pop/contemporary, rock, bluegrass, gypsy, Celtic music, and many more.

Alanna was a member of the 2013 Virginia All-State Orchestra, ranking 22nd out of 108 violinists. She was also concertmaster of Camerata Strings, All-County Orchestra, and Orchestra Intensive summer camp. A participant in the SPARC LiveArt event, Alanna played in the pit orchestra and collaborated with musical icons Jason Mraz, k.d. Lang, and Christina Perri. She also attended Mark Wood Rock Orchestra Camp, where she studied with world-renowned violinist Rachel Barton Pine. Alanna frequently performs at weddings, private parties, and special events in the Richmond area.

Alanna is enthusiastic about teaching, with a passion for helping students develop, strive towards, and reach their goals. She believes that every student has the potential to succeed.
